Politics of heritage, governance and sovereignty, actions of diplomacy and development, preservation and international relations, museum studies, and the implications of archaeological research in our understanding of the past. Her recent book, A Pearl in Peril: Archaeology and Diplomacy in Turkey was published 2019 with Oxford University Press. She serves as editor of the Journal of Field Archaeology.
